Tactics and Strategy is proud to announce that the first simulation in its Napoleonic Land Battle series will be available in July this year….2011 !

Consisting of a Battlemap, measuring 822mm ( 2’-10” ) x 575mm

( 1’-10” ), the simulation is fought over eighteen Grand Tactical Periods, each lasting forty minutes.

Plastic counters represent the main infantry formations, light infantry companies, cavalry, dragoons and light artillery batteries. There are 42 French and 60 Austrian counters…..102 in all !

Unique Methodology

• Most land battle maps are not criss-crossed with lines denoting hexagonal shapes. Hexagons are the basis of movement and fire but the countryside over which battles were fought did not have lines all over it and neither do our boards.
• The counters depicting the formations do not have numbers on them……complex and long winded mathematics only get in the way.
• In most land battles movement is divided into ‘Grand Tactical Movement’ used to position the formations and ‘Tactical Movement’ used in combat.
